Where we are: the Neighbourhood House
The neighbourhood house Casa Gavoglio is a public space within a former military barracks, managed by a network of associations. It is a cultural and civic centre that promotes the active participation of families, young people and adults.
Our target group is composed of 70 per cent people with fewer opportunities (young mothers with a migration background; lonely elderly people with low income and low level of schooling; NEET young adults with a migration background; people with mental health problems; adults with low schooling and lacking digital skills).
We work in a peripheral and poor area of the city of Genoa, lacking social, cultural and health services. Our work with the local community since 2020 is aimed at helping people with fewer opportunities to acquire skills (social, digital, cultural, civic participation).
